The manual for my Compaq r3360us states that my maximum supported RAM is 1gb. It comes stock with 512mb. Does this mean that I may use 1GB maximum memory per slot or total? Thanks,

Also suggestions on where to buy or what type of RAM is recommended will be greatly appreciated. :)

Your notebook will support upto 1280 MB of RAM in maximum, for both modules added up. The RAM the notbook uses is DDR SODIMM PC2700 (333 MHz). If you are upgrading, make sure it is DDR and not DDR2, because that type of RAM is incompatible.
