i was planning on customizing an hp dv 6000t on the hp website and putting it to 1 gb. I would like to upgrade to 2gb with kingston ram when I get the laptop instead of adding 1gb on their site for an extra $125. I was thinking DO THEY PUT IN 2 512 MB STICKS OR JUST ONE 1 GB STICK? If they put in 2 512 mb then it would cost me more to buy two 1 gb ram after. Also does anyone know any good sites I can buy an extra 6 or 12 cell battery from.
    thanks

    According to the dv6000t customization, 1024MB DDR2 System Memory (2 Dimm) , which means 2 512Mb.

And for the battery just try searching around on google/yahoo or ebay. Just make sure the company or person as a good rating on resellerrating.com or feedback rating and try looking or posting about you battery question in the dell section of the forum.

1gb is the required min for vista if buying through HP

    2gb would be desired

i wouldnt compare xp interface to vista interface.....the aero is just totally different from anything on xp

well. I would plan on running programs like Internet explorer, Kazaa or limewire or some sort of download site, burn movies, microsoft word all at once. I might play games like quake 4 or Doom 3 but only run those games.
Would that be fine for 1 gb or would I need 2 gb?

Like junknstuff said, Vista needs at least 1 GB min. So if you are playing games, 2 GB would be ideal. Or else you will suffer performance.
