I have a old Compaq 17XL260. work is sending me out of town so its upgrade time.
its has a p-3 500mhz, 6gb HDD, i have it up to 192mb of ram.
the max it can run is 512mb RAM and 800mhz p-3.
i read about some one who did a ram and CPU upgrade. He got almost no real world benefit from the cpu upgrade and it looks like more work then its worth for me.
So i want to upgrade to 512mb ram and a new fast HDD.
i need two 256mb 144-pin so dimms like this for $37
any one know if pc133 will work in the 17XL260?

also i need help with is the HDD.
