I just got one old aspire 3020 form my work office.
I want some memory upgrade but i don't want to do any error before.
Right now i have in hand one TC JetRam Notebook DDR2-667 1GB SO-DIMM.

i wonder if is fine with this notebook (acer aspire 3020) ? . some ppl say i can only hande DDR and not DDR2 , i just need a clarification point.

DDR and DDR2 are not interchangeable...they have different placement of the notches as well as different pin density etc.

I think the Aspire 3020 uses DDR memory so the DDR2-667 stick will not work. You can verify what memory you have installed by either physically looking at it(look at the notch/google the model/product number) or use a system info tool like CPU-Z(look under the Memory of SPD tab).

Also keep in mind that your laptop probably has only 2 slots for memory.

DDR2 does not physically fit in a DDR slot.
