I talked to a Dell tech about it last year and he seemed to say it was a hardware issue... but I can't record what I hear. Meaning the system output. It doesn't work. In fact, like in Audacity, it doesn't really give me an option to record that. Any ideas? Fixes? Workarounds?

    Much appreciated. :D

So if you play a song in, say, Winamp, Audacity won't record it?

I have the same issue, although I could do it on my previous laptop.
