I have a DELL Inspiron that I want to get rid of on Ebay. But before I do so I would like to reformat the hard drive in case I left anything sensitive behind. I can get into Windows by using an external monitor I have, which helped me transfer files to my lovely new SONY SZ. However in the reformat process with the Dell Cds, you have to be in DOS mode during boot-up ofcourse, however the external does not work in dos mode. It starts to work only on the Windows log-on screen. How can I reformat the hard drive by seeing what i'm doing.can u reformat and erase in normal Windows mode? I dont care about programs since I will try to sell and dont care what they do with it. I just dont feel comfortable selling it in the state its in.
