I'm looking into using my toshiba for media, this would involve it being closed using the tv as a monitor.

Is there any way to set it to power on from say an external usb keyboard button being pressed?

    Thanks

have you tried the gfx utility tools?

they usually let you set a hotkey to switch screens and rotate the screen, etc.
