    Hello ppl, Im going to replace my hard drive on my laptop. The problem is it has genuine windows 8. I want to shift that windows 8 to my new hard drive that im planing to replace. So what can i do to accomplish this.

    If you upgraded to Windows 8 from W7 or earlier, you should have an iso image or a disk that you purchased. If you do not have the image, you can download it from a link that is in the email MS sent you when you purchased the software.

    If your laptop came with W8, you should have the install disk that came with your laptop.

    My laptop came with windows 8. I want it to move to a new hard drive. I have purchase this from Dell website at united kingdom. No install disk came with my laptop :(

    For Dell machines you can contact customer support in the UK to request a copy of the installation disk.

    I was doing studies at uk when i was buying this lap. But now i live in srilanka. how can i ask from them ??

    I am not sure. You can contact the customer support in SL and ask them? You could also make a recovery partition of your system and then copy it over to your new harddisk.... I think. There's some information about this on Google but I have not tried it.

    No I do not. I have never tried that route. There's plenty of information about this available though.
