S-Video is a video interface. It carries video signals from one device to another.
The HEL80 has an S-Video output on the back side. You usually use it connect to a CRT TV which does not have VGA or DVI inputs. However, S-Video is very low resolution which is not high enough to use for a primary monitor. Only use S-Video perhaps for watching films and maybe gaming, but both would be better on your laptop monitor.
