    samsung 830 128gb vs Sandisk 120gb extreme
    140 $ vs 110$
Write speeds are bit higher with sandisk. I know when it comes to memory cards, sandisk has very high standards.

I have a choice to get one of these. How do they compare ?
    Please advise
    thanks

Sandisk uses a Sandforce controller which I would automatically stay away from. It seems to get good reviews but Sandforce has its share of issues so I would recommend the 830.

Thanks for the reply. My reason for consideration sandisk was its reputation and almost perfect reviews online. Dint think about sandforce. I might still go for sandisk if that is the only issue.

problem with reviews is that hardware they write about is used for a week or two or even less and in that time they can notice only immediate flaws. SF drives have issues with running for long periods of time.

They remind me of old Dacia cars, works ok for the first year, and than you get at least one breakdown every month :)

Of the two I would definitely go with the 830, just a lot more of information on that drive out there. Not that the sandisk won't perform well, the samsung just has a better proven track record for reliability and you won't notice a speed difference in real world use between the two drives.

The only negative about the SanDisk Extreme is the lack of a toolbox but I'd still choose it.

I like Toshiba Toggle NAND memory.

I don't find any problems with the 3 SATA 3 SSDs I own with the SandForce 2281 controller.

I anyone has firsthand problems with that controller not related to your machines bios or problems with your OS corrupted, please post them instead of innuendos

Samsung offers a nice toolbox in SSD Magician.
