Hello, I just recently purchased a really nice Toshiba laptop but realized that its resolution pales in comparison to my old laptop's resolution of 1920x1200.

Is it possible to upgrade the 1366x768 resolution on my current Toshiba Satellite into a much higher resolution 1920x1080? I am familiar with replacing LCD in a Toshiba because I have done it before, but which LCD should I buy?

Edit: My laptop model is L755-S5248.

If a similar model has a 1080p screen, it is possible but you'll need a new LVDS cable as well. If you want I can move this to the Toshiba subforum where you'll likely get more hits.

I've already tried posting in the Toshiba forums but didn't get a single reply. I'm beginning to think it's probably not possible, or nobody has this laptop with 1080p screen....

Toshiba is known for crappy screens, but try taking apart your display assembly and checking if the LVDS cable has all 30 pins. If it does, then it's probably dual-channel and MIGHT support 1080p.

I found a 16-inch 1920x1080 screen online for $110 and it has a 30-pin connector. I wonder if it would work with the Toshiba A660. Guess I'll have to look at the LVDS cable...?

Either way, I hope upgrading Toshiba screens is possible because I hate this 1366x768 resolution...
