I have attached my samsung sync master sa100 led monitor to my laptop as second screen. ITs a 19 inch widescreen monitor.

I would like to watch movies in that led screen rather than my laptop screen,

But the problem is i cannot control its colours brightness contrast since led monitor doesn't have buttons to do that.

And i know there is a pc software "magic tune" to do that. But that doesnt support to windows 8 and also when i install, it says that you cannot use this application for this laptop screen.

So what can i do to adjust screen resolution in my led monitor

Maybe your monitor just doesn't have the capability to do what you want to do, it would be surprising, my LED LG monitors definitely have adjustable contrast, color, etc.

So, then it has the capabilities, just no hardware buttons to control the thing (a no no in my book, some functions should always be accessible through direct controls imo). Anyways, have you checked on Samsung's website whether there was a Windows Vista, 7 or 8 version of the software? Try the version for the most recent Windows you can find.

Hi, you can try ScreenBright - it works the same way as Magic Tune (using the DDC/CI interface), so it could work for you. I tried it in Windows 7 64 bit and it seemed to work fine for both the internal and external screens.

Apparently is has a button to do that... I searched for manual, found this: Samsung SA100 04Eng
Page 20 has instructions but on the free version it is partially blocked :)

Did you make the external your primary and only screen before trying to adjust colors?

Good find. Press and hold power button for 5 seconds and sounds like you get a menu to adjust brightness, contrast, colors, etc. Although I didn't realize MagicTune was a Samsung software product.

press and hold power button for 5 sec s is only adjusting its screen adjustments not the colours and brightness.

Actually i used it as the second screen. Are you suggesting that i might wana make my second screen as my only screen and try making screen resolution and colours ??

I found a user that said they got it working. I hope this makes enough sense.

"I made MagicTune running on Windows 8.
    The key facts are:
    - don't care about the samsung compatibility list for magictune
    - actual drivers for ur graphic card
    - windows 7 - 32 bit installer
    - compatibility mode set to vista sp2 on all *.exe except gammatray.exe and vcredist.exe in program folder
    - and do a reboot"

ok i have done some adjustments with my graphic properties (im using winows 8) As you said i can make some adjustments there. But it seems my second screen doenst have the quality that my laptop computer display have.

my laptop computer has 1920*1080 resolution while my second screen has only 1368*768 so do you think this is adversely affecting the video quality of two screens.

The lower res larger display means that things won't look as crisp, but color accuracy is independent of the resolution. That said, it is possible that the overall quality of your laptop's display is higher than that of your monitor.
