Dell Outlet is constantly changing. I would bite on a deal if you see one in the outlet cause odds are it will gone within days of appearing. For example...

I searched for about an 1 1/2 in the outlet and finally found a Dell Studio 15 maxed out specs except processor. Configured new it would have been a bit over $1,200. I got it for $550. Arrived in perfect condition although I didnt like the laptop at all. So I returned it.

i caught a good one but i was afraid that on christmas, they'll have a big sale and i would get screwed over.
    i guess i shouldn't wait for christmas?

I agree with Jaycee. Also the prices are already set so low to move the product do not see them doing much better. If you find what you like grab it. Also Black Friday is coming up but same thing do not see you doing much better. Good luck.

Dell Outlet doesn't really have sales - it's already pretty much as low as Dell will put the prices. If you see a good deal, grab it then. There may be good sales at the regular dell.com on Black Friday or Christmas, but I would say 99.9% there won't be any sales at Dell Outlet - it moves quickly enough at those prices as it is.

I've been buying from the Dell Outlet for several years now. My most recent purchase being my Studio 15 that I've had for two months. It has the 2.5GHz T9300 processor, WXGA (1440x900) LED display, ATI HD 3450 graphics card, 3GB RAM, 320GB Hard Drive, Dell 1510-N wireless, Bluetooth, Fingerprint Reader, Backlit Keyboard....with the exception of a Broadband Wireless Card (no thanks!) and the BluRay Combo Drive, it has every option available. I found it listed in the Outlet for $959 as a Previously Ordered New system. I managed to track down a 20% off Coupon for the Outlet- I paid $767.20 plus sales tax and $19.99 shipping.

One thing I always tell everyone to do before completing the Outlet purchase is to visit the regular DELL website and build the same configuration (or as close as you can get) to make sure they're getting the best deal. Once in a great while, DELL will have a really good deal on the regular site that ends up being cheaper than the same thing from the Outlet. It's very rare, but it always pays to double check. The other reason to do it is to know how much you saved buying from the Outlet! When I configured my Studio 15 as a new model, the total was $1417....and I paid $767.20!

I've also learned that it is IMPOSSIBLE to predict when the "best" time will be to shop the Outlet! For the last few months, the Outlet inventory has been much higher than I've ever seen it before! In the past, the vast majority of inventory consisted of Certified Refurbished systems and a few dozen Scratch & Dent models, but Previously Ordered New models were few and far between...

That's changed in a BIG way! Right now, there are 72 Studio 15 laptops and 569 Inspiron 1525 laptops showing in the Outlet inventory as Previously Ordered New. In all, there are 775 Previously Ordered New laptops in stock at this moment! There are also 210 Scratch & Dent laptops.

Most people freak out at the thought of buying one of the Scratch & Dent models, but they can be the best deals of all! I've spoken to handful of others who have dared to order on those laptops and, after ordering three laptops and one desktop that were "Scratch & Dent" models, I feel confident in saying that none of them have ever been more than a minor blemish. The first one I ordered was an Inspiron 1525 for my nephew. I learned that Jet Black is the best color to pick if you order a Scratch & Dent laptop...it wasn't nearly as bad as I had imagined and, five minutes after I took it out of the box it looked like a brand new one....all it takes is a Black Sharpie, good as new! :D :D :D
