    Hi,
Hi, when I run Cpu-z, it shows that the core speed 798 Mhz but my cpu is 1.73 pentium M....am I really running at 798 Mhz instead of 1.73 Ghz?
Although when running super pi it says 1 m 46 s....

My friends thinkpad T42 also shows the same. I own a fujitsu N3410

Yes, it is due to Speedstep which in order to conserve power and increase battery life decreases the processor speed to 800MHz when idle and will automatically increase it to its max speed when it is really needed(during heavy cpu usage).

Try opening CPU-Z while running Super Pi and you will notice the increase in clock speed to the max state.
