    I recently purchase this laptop
    processor p8400 2.26ghz
    3g memory
    SATA 250g with 5400rpm

    i like to upgrade hardrive to SATA 250g with 7200rpm any suggesstion aftermarket about brand,model and is this bios supported.

    Any 320GB/7200rpm will do.

    Seagate 7200.3 performs well, comes with 5 year warranty and is the cheapest.

    Yes it will fit and yes the bios supports it.

    You could also consider the WD5000BEVT. Performance comes close to 320GB/7200rpm but 500GB.

    It's easy. There is a panel on the bottom.

    Buy a $10 USB enclosure. Use the trial version of Acronis True Image to clone your current hard drive to the new one. Then install the new one.

    You can install XP on any modern system, as long as you can find the appropriate drivers.
