Hello. i am new to this forum and would love some help with my laptop.

my sony vaio is a dual core processor (1.46, 1.46 Ghz) but when i try to play games that require only 1.8 they say i am not meeting the specs.

am i running both processors or just one?

    thanks in advance!

It depends upon the games, since some games are not configured to use more than one cpu core..!! and 1.4 dual core wont make it 1.46x2.. :D

Yes, you have a 1.46Ghz dual core.

A 1.46ghz processor should have enough for the games you are playing.
If the disk says 1.8Ghz recommended, than it is most likely 1.8Ghz from a Pentium4 processor.
If it says Intel core 1.8, than you need a faster processor.

You can upgrade your processor if you so desire, but you should be able to play the games even on a 1.46Ghz pentium dual core.

    lets see...
i would like to play titan quest.

    it's minimum requirements are:

    •Windows® 2000 or XP
•1.8 Ghz Intel Pentium IV or equivalent or AMD Athlon XP or equivalent
    •512 MB RAM
•5 GB free hard drive space
•64 MB NVIDIA GeForce 3 or equivalent or ATI Radeon 8500 series with Pixel Shader 1.1 support or equivalent

i feel dumb. i just checked and my system properties say i only have 32 bit. would that be the problem?

Thats means that game uses only one CPU core..!! So lets say if you had a T5550 which has a clock speed of 1.83GHz, then the game would use only one 1.83GHz core of the cpu to run the game and would work fine..!!
and what is 32 bit..?? are ou talking about the color quality..??
A game such as Assassin's Creed uses two cores, since its recommended requirements do indicate using a dual core cpu..!!
