    im getting sound distortion when using the headphone jack on my laptop.

    when using headphones or speakers, mighty annoying as i need to link my laptop upto some speakers for an "event" soon.

    any ideas?

    I've spoken to several people with this problem and a fewtimes it has ended up being a ground loop. Does the distortion go away when you unplug the AC adapter?
