I would like the laptop I eventually purchase to act as my stereo as I am going to be moving to a far off land and will be limited to what I can take with me. I am wondering if there are notebooks available with decent sound for listening to music, sometimes loudly. Currently my PC speakers and subwoofer do the trick and they are not high end at all, some logitech gear I purchased for around fifty bucks. Would it be a better idea to buy some add on speakers? Do any specific manufactures excel in terms of quality notebook speakers?

    Thanks in advance.

As a general rule laptop speakers do not sound the greatest. I would suggest a good set of headphones/buds or buying some small speakers.

If you really enjoy good quality sound you'll want to buy external speakers. Laptop speakers aren't the best.

I would suggest klipsch. I am in the music industry, and Klipsch is in my recording studio.

    Thanks for the replies.

Some of these brands you are giving are for internal?

What are external laptop speakers like. My desktop a three speaker system is probably as big as a notebook, mostly because of the sub-woofer. I would imagine you can get a two speaker system of decent quality. Size is a major issue.
