ok i have speedfan on an old hp laptop zv5000 with a pentium 4 2.8ghz ht and speed fan reads " CPU Diode Temp 2 Temp 3 Temp 4 Temp 5 Temp 6 Temp 7 " and they all read 102°c it dosent matter where you put the laptop either it be on a glass top for a desk or a bed not even if its just been turned on. There are 2 more tempratue readings one is HDD and Temp 1 thoes both work correctly. If anyone by chance knows another program to correctly tell me how hot this laptop is id like to know because im curiouse if i need to redo the cpu-z thermal grease. oh and a side note i looked around and found someone else who said theres reads 102°c on a 3ghz processer is what i belive they were running

yes speedfan has known to be innacurate in the past. Please use HWmonitor instead

I definetly like this program alot better then speedfan it only reads actual sensors unlike speedfan that just makes up things randomly. also what does THRM stand for it says that THRM is running at 56°c

    somewhere over the rainbow...

ACPI thermal zone controls the active/passive cooling system. It also shuts down the system if it reaches a certain temp

Core temp only works for the latest intel core based processors, and amd K8 and higher processors. It will not pick up a thermal reading from a p4 processor.
