Well, I just got my Dell Inspiron Notebook in the mail today. It is fresh out of the box. I heard people talking about clearing the hard drive and reinstalling the system so as to clean out the unnecessary crap that gets sent along with the computer. Is there a thread that I can view to explain all this to me? I have searched to no avail. I have the "Drivers and Utilities" disc for reinstalling Inspiron and XPS software. Is this all I need? Thanks for your help.

You'll need either a Windows OS disc, or a Dell Operating system disc. Keep looking. You may need to make one. Typically you can find the program to do so in your Start Menu. You'll need a couple blank CDs or a blank DVD.

I just helped somebody with this problem. Go into the software forum, and check out the "Software Issues!" thread. As long as you have the OS disc, this will also apply to your situation.
