I have some free time and i decided to finally try and undervolt my laptop. I heard you can get a BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) if the voltages are to low tho, therefore you will need to restart you laptop, but i never force restarted ( you know, on desktops its the little button below the big one wich turns the computer on) my laptop since i have it (and its almost 8 months) , except normally from the "Start" button. So how do i restart it? I own a hp dv5 1181en laptop, and i have only 1 big button in the top left corner, wich turns it on, or off if i press it when its already on, but it shuts it down just like it does normally from "start", it closes all aplications, etc.

Waiting for a reply urgently, i wanna undervolt tonight.

Hold the power button down to force it to shut down, then press the power button again. That's basically a restart, switching and switching off the computer at once.

If you can't figure out how to restart your laptop, trying to undervolt your cpu may not be a good idea....

    Please dont start a fight.

I think the question was already replied by dtwn.
Pressing the power button for several seconds will force-shut the laptop. That is all.

    Thanks.

yep, and only a few mainstream desktops (ones you dont build yourself or arent done by small system builders) come with a "reset" button.

When you get the BSOD, the notebook will probably restart by itself.
Otherwise just hold the power button as mentioned already.

    > Throw it hard against the wall :D

    > Hold Power Button Down for about 5 seconds

    > Remove battery and mains power supply

All of these are shutdown functions not technically "restart" you would have to turn the unit on again with the power button to restart it.
