    hello all,

I have a quick question - the backlight has gone out of my dv6000 HP laptop and I have another monitor I can use, and the correct adaptor. I may need to install the software for it first though. Problem is I can't see the dialogs to install it! Is there anyway I can sub another monitor in for the laptop before installing the adaptor hookup software?

I can see the dialogs but they are extremely faint, so much so that I can only read some of the dialog title bars.

    thank you for any assistance!

Do you have an external monitor you can use/borrow?

Adapter hookup software? What adapter is this and what monitor are you trying to use?

    Maybe use a flashlight.
