    switching 'fn' and 'ctrl' keys

    i realized that you have to work through bios and not windows.
    but is it possible? has anyone ever been able to do it?

    It's not possible - people have tried to do it before and it doesn't work. The Fn key is a special key, I forget exactly why it can't be changed.

    At least it doesn't have to bother you in games - you can flip around the functions of the keys in the Options menu of most games, so Fn becomes Ctrl and vice-versa.

    The FN key is programed into the BIOS, so it's impossible to switch it within the OS.

    Besides, it isn't even recognised as a seperate key unless pressed with another key...

    Unless it's a hacked BIOs, and that itself is pretty large task to do.

    ahh, theirs no problem that "hacks" certain bios for ya?
    i know theirs firmware for a couple old models of sager notebooks that does this for ya =\

    if youre talking about fps's then why not just change the ctrl to shift? this is possible for me since i have nothing mapped for shift.

    technically you could "re-wire" the keyboard and just switch CTRL with FN, but it's probobly not very easy.
