hello, I am newb level with some of my knowledge. Can someone give me a simple explanation of how to sync data from my old notebook (runs windows XP) to my new notebook (vista). I bought maxtor onetouch 4 thinking that would work, but it has no sync function, only good for backup data. I have data from both computers on the maxtor now, but got confused when i tried to access the old stuff.
I tried: Start -> computer -> onetouch then i couldnt figure out how to find the files in onetouch. What file they are under or whatever. I tried clicking on the largest thing onetouch4.dmg but it wont open and asks me what program i wan to use. I am pretty confused. Is there some way to access files from the external database so that i can save them on my new computer. Onetouch 4 does not have a sync function (2 and 3 did) so it is not a simple push of a button. Sorry if this question is stupid (told you i was confused  ). If it is complicated i would also appreciate advice on what to by for a symple sync of data from old computer to new. thx!
