    I was wondering...

What type of improvements would i see if I decided to get 3 GB of Memory instead of 2 GB? I will be gaming with my laptop, so I want to know what I will see with that, and also what the increase could do for my computer as a whole. This is on a 32 bit OS.

And what if i decided to go up to 4 GB with a 64 bit OS? What could I see there as well?

Honestly? Little to none. 2GB's is enough for most. 3GB would be a nice cushion and as it costs little for many a good investment.

    64bit? No comment as I don't know.

You'll see a 'major' boost in performance only if your current system is being bottlenecked by the 2GB ram. If its not, you won't notice much of a difference (though Vista may run a bit better due to the whole 'dynamic cache' thing).
Vista x64 - your games will run as normal/as before....you won't see any performance increase in gaming.

Stick to 3GB (Vista 32-Bit), get a good HDD or upgrade the GPU - if possible.

alright, thanks. I'm going to be getting a new laptop soon, and it has a P8600 Intel Core 2 Duo Processor and a Geforce 9600 GT graphics card...so i think the 3 GB is the way to go then.
