I changed my cpu from a t3500 to a t8300 which for the extra cache and clock speed seems worth it.

When i disable speedstep my multiplier is only x6 so i have to use throttlestop to keep it at x12. I can also change the volatage and have been able to underclock.

The problem is with set fsb i cant change my RAM speed which i think is running as DDR2 but i may be wrong. My motherboard onlu supports ddr3 so i cant change it to DDR2. i have tried changing the timing using MEM set but that doesnt give me any room to overclock. I assume SET fsb auto doesnt work because it cant change the RAM speed.

I have attached some screen shots so any advise or conformation or what i think is happening would be a great help thanks

    Actually, you're in luck.

It appears as tho the RAM is already downclocked a little bit. At CAS 6 its rated for 457mhz.

So, you don't need to change your RAM speed until your FSB hits that point. Overclock away! You do probably need to find the correct PLL however.

does it look like my RAM speed is locked?

also when i try and move set fsb one notch it just blue reboots

my PLL is correct i found it on the motherboard

Have you tried using Dual IDA mode yet? ThrottleStop should let you lock both your cores so they are both using the 13 multiplier. Here's the thread about Dual IDA.

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/win...c-acceleration-ida-both-cores-core-2-duo.html

Here's an example of my T8100. It comes from Intel with a default 10.5 multiplier but you can use ThrottleStop to lock both cores with the 11.5 multiplier, even when both cores are fully loaded.

When lightly loaded, crank the multi up as high as it can go and right click on an empty spot on ThrottleStop and select the Start Dual IDA option.

Help me out a little here. Download ThrottleStop, run the program, tell me how you have it set up and post some pics. Tell me what's not working. 12 is the default multiplier for a T8300. Your screen shot shows that you do not have ThrottleStop set to the maximum IDA multiplier which should be 13 for a T8300. Dual IDA will not work if you don't have that set correctly. Start with the maximum multiplier and maximum voltage when first trying to get Dual IDA working. If you can get both cores to lock at 13, then you can do some testing to see if you can run your CPU reliably with the 13 multiplier while using less voltage. The voltage you are using in your screenshot is not going to be enough for most T8300 CPUs to run Dual IDA reliably.

thanks buddy, not sure if this will help, i turned the volts up on the cpu to 1.10 just to see if it worked with with ESIT selected and it still doesnt seem to load x13 . i have attached a screen shot of my bios and as you can see there is only 2 options for my CPU and i have dissabled both.

thought i would try and change the RAM timmings to give me a little more movemet there but i cant see to change CAS#.

Thanks for the screen shots. The good news is that your T8300 supports Intel Dynamic Acceleration (IDA). The bad news is that your bios has disabled this feature. If regular IDA doesn't work on your computer, Dual IDA is not going to work either.

Are you using the most recent bios? Did your laptop ever come with a T8300? If the bios does not recognize your T8300, it probably disables IDA mode when you boot up.

Without a modded bios, there might not be any way to turn the IDA feature on. If I have the time, I will try to come up with a little testing program that you can run which will show me what bits in your CPU are set and what bits have been cleared. If I compare that data to my Dell laptop that has a T8100, maybe I will get lucky and find out how to enable IDA mode on your laptop from within Windows as long as it has not been disabled and locked by the bios.

I more or less got the laptop for free, I have been overclocking PC'S for years but this is my first with a laptop.

    i upgraded the cpu from a T3500 (2.1GHz, 1MB) to the T8300(2.4 3MB)
when i did this i also lapped the cpu to have with Temps so im a little down that it seems my limited bios is holding me back plus the lack of DDR3 support.

As far as i can see on the samsung website i have the only release Bios wise for the RV510, is there anywhere else i could look or use?
    http://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/product/NP-RV510-A01US

From what i can see they use the Motherboard in other models RV410,S3510,E3510.

feel free to send me anything for testing
