Should I take my laptop battery when I have it plugged in to the wall? Or is it ok to leave it in?

Most people will going to say take the battery out. But I leaved it in, I have doing this for 2 yrs now, and my battery is fine. I have another battery, which I dont use it that much.

I would leave your battery in while your laptop is plug in. If you accidentally unplug your laptop you will lose everything you were working on. Trust me it sucks... :p

it is beter to leave the battery in ,because the battery protects the laptop against electronic spikes .

    Hello,

Its true that if you kept on discharging and charging, the battery will die more quickly. The average notebook's battery is about 300 fully discharge and charge. So if you keep on using the battery that often, it will die within 2 yrs.

My notebook's batteries have 500 discharge/charge life cycle, So I keep it longer, but I dont use the battery not quite as much. However, I see the sign that my battery is slightly woring off. But its normal.

I have had my battery for 4 years and it still has decent life. Not great, but its always on, and constantly being plugged in/unplugged. Its relatively cheap to buy a second battery too, so maybe you could dedicate one for plugged in, one for travel, or just buy a new one one yours wears out.
