Depends on what you do with your computer. It doesn't hurt adding more RAM unless it's 32 bit OS and your wallet.

Timings and speed do not really matter unless you plan on overclocking. Any RAM will do, stick with Corsair, Crucial, GSkill, Kingston.

i mostly use this to run development software, 2 application servers, 1 database server

i am using win7-64bit for the first time.. so I am not sure if its worth expanding more 3/3.5 GB RAM - issue with 32bit win OS.

    I had one more question..
although i have installed PC3-10600DDR3 1333SODMM, I understand only PC3-8500 DDR3 SDRAM 1067MHz SODIMM Memory is required.. I am not sure on this but pls confirm

would you recommend me to buy PC3-10600 OR PC3-8500

Ah I thought it was 2 x 2 GB modules, didn't know it was shipped with 1 x 4 GB module. That's fine then, just buy 1 x 4 GB module. Make sure you use like memtest to fully test out the RAM. Nothing like finding a good deal on a defective memory stick.

Lenovo uses Elpida RAM sticks in its recent product builds.

You can buy another 4GB RAM stick of the same spec ( PC3-10600 DDR3 1333 SODIMM) to upgrade your T410 to a total of 8GB. Crucial/Micron is a great brand: I use it all the time. You can also consider Kingston, Samsung and G.Skill on Buy.com or Newegg.com.

i am so fortunate to order the RAM for 36$... today it is 60$... just wanted to admit - me getting the cheapest price was just a coincidence. :)
