    Hello,

I recently received an incorrectly spec'd x200 from Lenovo.
Many components were "downgrades", however it also appears that I received an SSD rather than a HDD.
    Specifically, I had ordered a 5400rpm 160 gb hard drive. Instead I received a Toshiba thns128gg4baaa-n

I came across a thread/post here that gave a ranking of popular SSD's, and the thns128gg4baaa-n was ranked the lowest.
I have not kept up to speed with anything SSD-related. So I would just like to get an idea from you guys; is the thns128gg4baaa-n still a worthy upgrade over a HDD?

    Thanks

If you received a laptop that is not the one you ordered, you need to get it sorted out with Lenovo, or any future warranty issues may be complicated since your machine doesn't match your invoice.

he did not ask that question ;)

by the way , the warranty would not be problem, since Lenovo just looks at the serial number , no name no invoice

It has been a frustrating and disappointing process, but it is being sorted out. (Four components were absent/downgraded, so surely want to get it sorted out)
I am considering asking them to let me keep the SSD as compensation, but would like to get an idea of what the quality of this model is like.

It's probable that there was a mix up within Lenovo, and somebody else had bought a X200, and they shipped you the one that another person bought.

Anyway, any SSD should be a worthy upgrade over your average HDD. Maybe not when it comes to a WD Velociraptor, but the SSD should be faster than your 5400 RPM 160GB.

When I saw the topic title I thought it was a spammer. Then Patrick would have beaten him with a stick. :D
