i hope links are allowed. it's a just a news article. very newsworthy were it to happen sooner than later.
-
Summary:
New Li-on, 48 hours battery life, release date: "several years".
Retort:
Where's my Asus XG station, darn it!
Breakthrough:
Future technology better than today's technology. -
I read the article a while back. It looks very promising, but I doubt it will be due for release before 2010.
-
Sounds good and someday something like this will happen, maybe sooner not later. A word of caution, remember the flaming laptops? Well w/10fold it could be a bomb so I would not want to be the first to own.
-
*BOOM*
"OK, meeting over. Not again Dell, not again." -
i wasn't too concerned with release date. the reality is the sooner somebody starts selling the mooooooooooore expensive it would be. later would help the price some. i don't how much when i say "some" but it could be the difference between super hype and $500 batteries now, or $150 later. either way, i know alot of peeps would really enjoy having a 2 day battery. my laptop sits in one spot 98% of the time, but i bet it would go down to 90% of the time if batteries put out 2 days of charge. i bet lan parties would be insane with laptops. one reason being you wouldn't be running up your "friends" electric bill. "charge your battery b4 u come over or i'll charge for the wattage."
thought some peeps might want to check this out...
