    Hello everybody,

I just bought a toshiba A500/02J. the manual says it has expresscard34 slot but no mention of mini pcie.

does anyone knows if it has got a mini pcie?
    Thanks a lot!

It must have one for the wireless. As far as extra free slots like some laptops do, idk but I doubt it on a budget laptop.

    thanks trottel for the reply.

actually, it has got wireless (realtek 8192se) on it. it's just that its peformance under linux is crap. so i need to put my own intel wlan.

it's pretty decent actually. an i5-430 cpu, 4g ram and yeah gt330m.

does anybody knows if it has got any extra slots (hopefully mini-pcie)?

    thanks

it should have 2 m-pcie slots at least... 1 will have the wireless card... anyways , if u want to put an intel card , u can just swap it with the realtek one...

    Why should it have 2?

Exactly. My Sony machine isn't exactly a budget machine, and I only have one Half-Mini PCI-e slot. Most ultraportables have two... one for WiFi and one for WWAN, and most business notebooks have two also. But as for most consumer notebooks.. nope.

well i don't know.. i do know my notebook has 2 slots... 1 which holds wireless card and 1 spare... i'm actually suprised that ur notebook have 1 slot as a big size one should have 2 at least and ur netbooks will have 1.
