Phone up Toshiba and ask, if the m100 comes with an option of anotehr video card, then it may be possible. If it doesn't, you're stuck.

Not likely, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

hmm. well when i ordered it. the laptop came with a choice of 3 different vid cards. the intel GMA an ATI x1300 w/64mb and an ATI x1400 w/128mb. the ATIs are PCI-Express. so does that mean a swap is possible?

    Not per sé.

The chip can also be soldered on the motherboard.

If it is modular, there are basically two options: it's a Toshiba proprietary model, which will probably make things hard or it's MXM.

If it is MXM, the future may bring a possible upgrade, but no guarantees. Some manufacturers 'lock' their MXM implemantations and all manufacturers guard their cards like their daughters virginity.
