i'm really paranoid about getting my laptop stolen, so is there some sort of tracking device i can slap inside of it?

the fingerprinting thing is an okay security measure, but that doesn't mean they can't disassemble my laptop and do whatever to it.

so yeah, any possibility of a tracking device? :p

I suppose a tracking transmitter that works all the time would be nice but I'm not aware of any. And it should be pretty cheap to make a tracking transmitter.

The only downside of Lo-jack is if a thief wipes the hard drive clean then you're out of luck.

Wouldn't the folks at Lojack also have unfettered remote access to your disk at all times?

I think this was mentioned on some recent Inspiron 1420 review. Gave me the chils, that's for sure.
