    through a hub ( at least 2 lan cables) or just a direct cable (cross-cable) for 2 pc.

    LAN is cheaper than Bridged USB? What do you need for a lan?

    Is there a good website "for dummies" that describes how to set up a lan? Thanks

    Or you could do wireless lan like I did. Kinda takes a long time to transfer it all though. :p Took me 24 hours to transfer 40GBs. LOL

    Yub.i used to use bridged usb ,but speed is slower than lan's speed
    For 2 pc only,just go to any computer store ,ask for cross-cable (1m per dollar in my country) and plug in each pc
    Then setup IP,for instance,one is 10.128.0.1,one is 10.128.0.2.Then Run-->cmd-->ping 10.128.0.1
    Good luck
    this is really a nightmare in my country when ADSL speed sucks like dial up :D

    GRZ530, Thanks for trying to help. I posted this thread in the dummy section as I am dummy n. 1 when it comes to technology. Can you explain what a 'cross-cable' is, and where does it plug in? Also I do not have a ethernet card in my desk top if that makes a difference. Thanks again.
