how well does the tl-60 (2.0 ghz) processor perform in relation to tl-56 (1.8 ghz) and how well does it stack against core duos?

Well, in processor dependant applications, the TL-60 will perform better. However, in tasks such as word processing and surfing the Internet, they perform the same, because no real load is placed on them. Gaming will largely depend on the graphics card, and the processsor is unlikely to be the bottleneck in such circumstances.

In relation to the Core Duo/Core 2 Duo processors, they are outperformed in processor dependant tasks. Tasks such as encoding and video editing, are done much faster by the Core Duo/Core 2 Duo. But they do tend to cost a little more, and if you don't intend on doing some tasks such as encoding and video editing, then you might aswell consider the Turion X2. Its no bad processor at all, just a little slower than the competition.

As far as the CPU ratings go the TL-60 rates at 4.22 Ghz beating out all of the core duo's and the T5600 C2D. The 7200 C2D scores higher mainly because of its higher L2 cache. I would imagine the TL-56 to rank slightly below this.
