    turion x2 or wait for merom

    just wanted to hear everyones opinion on if the merom should be worth the wait over just getting the turion x2? do yall think intel is just flat out better then amd?

    It's hard to be 100% sure at this point which is better, since I have yet to see any extensive comparison between the 2 (engineering samples at least)

    From what is available on paper, I believe that intel will remain the better option with regards to power consumption and management. This is based on the voltage regulation and clock throttling schemes that both manufacturers use. How much of a difference? No idea.

    When it comes to processing power, that's a larger unknown. Intel CLAIM 10-20% improvement over yonah. I personally find that hard to believe.

    AMD do have the upper hand since they released their product first!

    Not too much is known about either, but if you have time I guess you can wait. Currently Intel has 90% of the mobile market, but they are losing that since AMD has the better product out currently. (Although there will be some people who will wait for Intel's superchip instead of AMD's current product)
