    im going to college next year and obviously the dorms have a good cable service with a variety of chanels, i was wondering if i brought a splitter with me, that splits a coaxial signal, can i have a tv hooked up and be watching tv and then the other coaxial wire go to an external tv tuner hooked up to my laptop and being watching different stuff on both at the same time

    secondly what are the best and most affordable external tv adapters out there for a laptop
    i have an hp dv4170us
