Hi,
I've got a Packard Bell Dot M/A netbook and tried a CPU upgrade with AMD Turion 64 MK-38 TMDMK38HAX4CM 2,2 GHz. The Netbook was running with it, booting but crashing randomly after about 2 to 30 minutes. Power or overheating wasn't the problem. I didn't find out what it was but tried another CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Mobile TK57 1,9GHz AMDTK57HAX4DM. Sometimes the screen kept being black, sometimes it started to boot, but again crashing.
Bios Version Phoenix 3307. There is only one CPU-setting: virtualization. I've also tried turning it off, no change.
The service manual says:
Supports the mobile and desktop Athlon 64/Athlon 64 FX/
Athlon X2/AMD Sempron/AMD Turion 64 processors, including
both AM2 and S1 socket CPUs.
What am I doing wrong?
Original processor was an Athlon 64 L110 and the netbook is running fine but slow now with it again.
unsuccessful CPU upgrade on Packard Bell Dot M A
