    Hello!
    I have an HP NC6400 | 14.1 WXGA | ATI Mobility X1300 | wifi/bt

I would like to upgrade the LCD to a WXGA+ (1440x900) res screen. While I feel comfortable replacing the screen, I've read about compatibility issues according to some sources. Any recommendations for the NC6400 specifically?

    Thanks!

I don't think their will be any compatibility issues. You can go on google and search for your hp laptop with LCD screen beside it, or buy the more expensive version at hp

Screen upgrade = No warranty if you care.

If your system has the right display adapter I don't see any reason why getting a good LCD monitor is such a bad idea...

I appreciate the responses. My notebook is no longer under warranty so the risk is entirely mine. I may have to buy a another lcd cable that supports the higher resolution, but again - I haven't received any 'real' answers from vendors. I'll keep trying - until HP comes out with a wxga+ LCD (illumi-lite) flavor :)
