    Should work fine. Just make sure you have the latest BIOS.

    Edit: If it's the one pictured, then it's not BGA, it's PGA. Any socket P thats 800MHz FSB+ should work, including any of the P-series.

    It might be one of those BGA CPUs that are converted to PGA.

    But I bet you could find an X9100 for that price (or close to it).

    But wouldn't a X9100 make it have heat issues?

    The only reason a X9100 has a 44w rating is because it can be overclocked. It will run just as cool as any other 45nm cpu at the same clock/voltage.
