    Is it possible to upgrade the graphics card in dell's xps 1530? My laptop currently has a 8400m gs 128mb and i would like to upgrade to a 256mb card. And if its possible, where can i buy one?

    you can technically upgrade to a 8600m gt because dell is offering it :D

    If it's been less than 30 days, return it to Dell and reorder. If your return period has expired, then, unfortunately, it cannot be upgraded. The GPU is soldered to the motherboard, there isn't any MXM slot.

    Remember, it's the GPU, not the amount of memory. People are always misguided and thinking that a 512 MB card is better than a 256 MB one. From the SOUNDS of your question, you seemed like you were saying you JUST wanted to upgrade to ANY 256 MB card. Remember it's the GPU, not the memory (although the difference between DDR2 and GDDR3 is quite different). And yeah, you can't upgrade, it's soldered onto the motherboard.
