Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
A Core 2 Duo/Quad laptop cannot be upgraded to an i5, is it completely different generations chipset/sockets apart. I'm not 100% sure all 8930G can be upgrade to a Core 2 Quad.

You should ask help at this thread. It is exactly about 8930G. At this thread there are users, that had 8930G with C2Q processors on-board by default. But there is a myth saying, that 8930G that came with C2D processors by default cannot be upgraded with C2Q processors due to chipset limitation - I`m not sure about that.
For example, mine 5739G has PM45 chipset, as 8930G has too. But, it is the first revision of PM45 - because of it there is no quad support for 5739G. Despite this, 7738G has PM45 chipset too, but with the last revision of it - this laptop can be upgraded with C2Q processors.
Or this is a matter of try, or this is the matter of additional searching of information about compatibility of 8930G with C2Q.
upgrade my t9400 cpu for acer 8930g
