    hello,

    i'm new to this, can anyone help me to upgrade my Aspire 5052?
    i'm planning to upgrade my processor first, currently it use a Turion 64 mk38.

    You probably can squeeze in a ML-42, staying with the same L2 Cache, gaining an extra .2GHz, but would run a bit warmer as well.

    mm, i was thinking to upgrade it to an x2 processor, is there any chance for my system to go there? any prerequisite need to be met beforehand?

    but it is S1 for both turion 64 n turion 64 x2 isn't it

    You are right. My bad.

    To clarify - the S1 socket would support Richmond CPUs (your MK) and Taylor/Trinidad CPUs (X2); but unless you can find the correct BIOS and chipset for your notebook model, this would make no sense in swapping out the CPU.

    There is an Acer 5052-ANWXMi model that supports the X2 right of the bag. You might want to use it as reference, maybe?
