    is it worth upgrading my dell xps 2.16 ghz t7400 processor to the highest one it can have which is the 2.33 ghz t7600 which can be overclocked to 3.16 ghz will i see a big difference or is it not worth upgrading to that cpu

    If you' can, and are going to overclock, you might as well just overclock your T7400? I doubt that the T7600 will have significantly more OC headroom...

    If you are talking about the XPS1710, you will need to upgrade to the T7600G in order to overclock. The G model has an unlocked multiplier which allows the BIOS to overclock it.
    The difference between a T7400 and T7600 is about 11% difference, but hardly noticeable in real life. However upgrading to a T7600G will give you a much larger percentage upgrade in terms of processing power. I know my friends XPS1710 ran for years with the processor running at 3.33GHz. The fans were locked to full with I8KFANGUI, and it was undervolted with CPU rightmark
