    upgrade the rams for HP DV6810US?

    i got a HP DV6810US in circuitcity already has 3gb rams in it... and running in
    Processor: AMD Turion 64 X2
    Windows® Vista Home Premium

    should i upgrade it to 4gb rams?

    Looks like you have the 32bit version of Vista which means even though you can add 4GB RAM the OS will only be able to use ~3.2GB. So, you might see some improvements in performance(dual channel + extra RAM) it wont be anything drastic. if you get 64bit OS then you will be able to use the full 4GB RAM.

    There is no need for 4gb from 3gb unless you want to run a x64 os. ;)

    You could install 2x2GB PC2-6400 only if you have a 64-bit OS....!!
    If you have the license key for the Vista Home Premium, you can download its 64-bit version or borrow the 64-bit disc and install it using the same key....!! (I have heard that this does not work for OEM keys :eek:)

    It really wont make much of a difference unless you are running applications that are falling short of the 3GB ram you already have....!! Otherwise stick to the 3GB.. :)
