to a T9300 processor the other day and ever since then, my RMclock and HWmonitor temps are out of sync (wasnt that way before i upgraded my processor, assuming its just a software fix) and also now when i close the lid to my computer and open it back up, the screen just stays blank unless i shut it down and turn it back on. any ideas? also what is the white goop that is on the memory banks of the gpu? should it be replaced with artic silver 5?

You did update to the latest BIOS right?
Yes you can replace it with AS5 aswell -
Commander Wolf can i haz broadwell?
You can also try uninstalling the processor from the device manager and letting Windows reinstall it for you. Sometimes that should work as a quick fix for situations like this.
The white goop is just thermal compound. Usually it's fine to replace it with AS5, but sometimes the gap between the memory bank and the heatsink might be too big for AS5, necessitating an actual thermal pad or "goopier" thermal compound. -
yes, bios is the latest version 2.30 from toshiba. ill try uninstalling and re-installing the processor from device manager and see if that makes a difference. i think i also messed something up because i havent seen my cpu core temp any lower than 48C...any suggestions?

device manager sees the new processor, reports both cores. even after uninstalling and re-installing the processor from device manager. im going to go back in to the computer today or tomorrow and see about the fan working or not.

It is also possible that RMClock isn't properly recognising the Penryn CPU. While version 2.35 was released after Penryn's arrive, the 2.35 beta had been in circulation for several months and added Santa Rosa support.
