all right guys here is the deal, i own a laptop which has an intel 945 chipset and i had 1gb ram with it. now when this was the case my windows score was
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU T5500 @ 1.66GHz 4.7
Memory (RAM) 2.00 GB 4.5
Graphics Mobile Intel(R) 945 Express Chipset Family 3.5
Gaming graphics 256 MB Total available graphics memory 3.1
Primary hard disk 6GB Free (23GB Total) 4.9
and then today i removed the 1 gb ram and swaped it with a 2 gb ram from kingstston and bang look what happens to my graphis related score's
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM)2 CPU T5500 @ 1.66GHz 4.7
Memory (RAM) 2.00 GB 4.9
Graphics Mobile Intel(R) 945 Express Chipset Family 2.5
Gaming graphics 256 MB Total available graphics memory 3.0
Primary hard disk 6GB Free (23GB Total) 4.9
somebody plz help me out, is this kind of thing normal i mean my ram score increased but my graphics fell down real hard.....???
thanks in advance to everybody who helps...
-
Yes. Its absolutely normal. WEI scores for graphics often drops when you upgrade the RAM. Dunno why this happens, but I guess the nerds at MS were probably high on grass, and made it Ram Upgrade α (GPU WEI Score)-1.
Try using PCMark05/Vantage/SiSandra/3DMark06 to benchmark the system rather than WEI.
(And, BTW does the gaming score really matter on a GMA 950)
-
I've noticed if you've set the resolution in windows to 640x480 you get higher GPU scores in WEI, so WEI is really crap to see or compare performance in
-
WEI is utterly worthless to say the least.
-
hey so does upgrading ram change my ram clock speed automatically or do i have to do that manually or is it even possible....??
-
No, you cannot change the memory speed. You can monitor the RAM, CPU and FSB clock speeds using CPU-Z.
-
I wouldn't worry about anything being slower than before, it's just WEI that's buggy. Your performance should be atleast the same as before.
upgraded ram and experienced a drop in windows experience score
