I have a 2.5" external USB enclosure and a new hard drive. Is it possible to copy the OS and everything over to the new drive so I don't have to reinstall everything?

Ghost 9.0 (prior versions won't) will image to USB drives. Acronis True Image 8.0 also should be considered (my recommendation).

Yes, something like Norton Ghost will accomplish that for you.

xxcopy can do it too but its more complicated, norton ghost will do it, usb drives usually just show up as another drive and will allow you to do anything you normally would with your primary HDD,

Thanks for the info. Here's a problem though, I think: XXcopy's site says it doesn't work well for windows XP because it can't copy the MBR.

True Image just works, both cloning and backup restore. I've done three restores recently and no suprises, no gotcha's.
