    I have 1GB DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHz, 2 Dimm for my e1405. If i get this: (2 x 1GB) 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300). WIll that be compatable with my laptop?

    Thanks :)

Yes, I believe that DDR2 667 is backwards compatible with DDR2 533 (someone correct me if I'm wrong), so these sticks should work for you. If there is an option for DDR2 533 instead, you might want to get those since they might be cheaper.

Hot RAM Deals has some good 1GB stick prices, around $30 per stick I believe.

I put 2GB of DDR2 667 in my e1505 and it works just fine at 533 speeds.

The way upgrading RAM works is simple. If it's the same "standard" (i.e. DDR2), has the same amount of pins (i.e. 200), and it is of greater or equal speed (i.e 533<667) to the previous RAM then it should be compatible. That's a general good rule of thumb.

    Good luck and have fun,

    Robert

I always liked www.newegg.com for computer hardware.

I don't think that they ship outside of the USA though...if that's a problem.
