To improve gaming performance, really only upgrading graphics card will make a huge difference. But if you have less than 2gb of ram, you should definitely upgrade to 2 or 3 gigs. That OCZ ram should work. Fry's is a very reliable store so you can trust them. Upgrading the hard drive will only change the loading times for game maps and such; it won't improve framerates.

yes thats a good deal. i'm not sure as to if you can upgrade the video card, but the ram and harddrive will be worth the money. also you should know if your laptop uses 2 dimms or 1. if it uses 2 dimms, then you probably will have to swap one out for the ocz, if you purchase it. the harddrive upgrade to a 7200rpm hard drive will increase overall performance, load times of games, but not in-game performance, as in any raise in fps.

OK, the HD can be upgraded if you like, I'd say a 7200RPM 100GB or an High density ie ~160GB 5400RPM HD. As for the GFX card, it is likely that you cannot upgrade, but you should check to see if it is MXM compatible to be sure. The RAM is a good brand and the deal is amazing. I can't tell you if Frys.com is a reputable site or not due to the fact that I have never used them. The thing about local stores is that they are selling you products at retail prices. In other words, they bought an $80 stick of RAM and marked up the value to ~$150. local shops have to raise the price in order to make a profit. When you buy from an online store such as newegg.com you are buying at what is close to or right at what is called wholesale price. This is the price that local stores are buying at from essentially wharehouse business who stock surpluses of the goods that local stores sell. So with that being said, it is entirely possible that the price on the website could be trusted, I just can't guarantee reliability from then since I don't deal with them myself.

hope this helps in one way or another

    Fry

frys has the best ram deals right now (there online store), blowing newegg out of the water.

2x2gb of OCZ for 160$, neweggs closest thing would be wel over 200$ and not even in stock.

I got 2 day shiping for 7$ and it was at my door step early in the morning the next day.

so frys is defintily ok, and infact if you check the ram deals thread, you will find that most of all the deals are from there.

As far as hdd performance. If your really a performance minded person Id recomend the 250gb Western Digital wich is 190$ at the egg, or wait a month or so untill you can buy the 200gb 7200rpm hiachi.

The hiachi is faster, but not by much. I like the WD the most since its cheaper and has more storage. Its the one I bought for my C90S.

do they have a decent 100GB or 120GB 7200RPM HD. I don't need a huge HD since I have a couple of external HDs. I just need a good HD at a cheap price to replace my internal HD on my laptop since I seem to fill it up every 4 1/2 months or so.
